“Cat Got Your Tongue” is the Stafford Animal Shelter’s annual animal charades fund-raising event. With Chrysti the Wordsmith, emcee Scott McMillion, and celebrity charaders, “Cat Got Your Tongue” is a fun night of laughter, great food, art for auction, and raising money for the Shelter. The event is this Friday, February 1st, at 6:00 PM at the Elks Lodge at the corner of 2nd and Lewis Streets. (Enter through the main door at 130 S. Lewis.)
Animal phrase charades will be acted out by local celebrities Tim Cahill, Nancy Curtis, Lynette Evanson and Gary Fish, with audience participants guessing and betting on which celeb will be the fastest at being guessed. Chrysti the Wordsmith will share the etymology of the animal phrases. Yours truly, the ArtsMontana Curator, will be minding the big board where charader times are recorded. The night includes a no-host bar and a generous buffet beginning at 6 PM, with the chance to bid on original artwork. Tickets are a tax deductible donation of $22 in advance and $25 at the door.
Thanks to the donation of the venue, the “Taste of Livingston” fare from area restaurants, and the art work, all proceeds from the event will go directly to the Shelter animals.
Tickets available by phone, at the door, or online: staffordanimalshelter.org.
As a two-time attendee and charader at the event, I can vouch for the hilarity, fun, food, and feel-good qualities of this night out. Take a break from Winter weather and take in the warmth of your community. Be there!

The Livingston Views page has been renamed Arts Slideshows and, in addition to slide shows of arts events around town, the page offers visual samplers of the arts here in Livingston. The initial offering takes you on a quick tour of many of the artists, photographers, and designers listed on ArtsMontana.com. This, I hope, is a good way to get acquainted with artists’ and designers’ work. Of course, one work cannot represent the whole, so I plan to change the images in the slideshows from time to time. I’ll also add artists as I get images of their work. Click ARTS SLIDESHOWS in the main menu, and enjoy the shows.
[This is a good time to remind you that artists don’t ask or pay to be listed. ArtsMontana.com selects the artists to list.]

The Danforth Gallery is once again offering its Figure Drawing Workshop this winter. Led by Brad Bunkers, last year’s workshop was a great success with artists of many levels of experience participating, and ultimately showing their work in a show at the gallery.
This year’s workshop will accommodate artists who wish to use paints or other liquid mediums. Painters should bring their own drop cloths and cleaning solutions. The Danforth will provide tables and drawing benches. Participants can bring their own easels if they prefer.
This is a chance to do figurative work using live models over four weeks of sessions starting Wednesday, January 16. Sessions on 1/23, 1/30, and 2/6 will follow. Participants will be invited to submit pieces from the workshop for a special Valentine’s Day exhibit and fund-raising event at the gallery on February 14.
The workshop fee is $50 for non-members and $40 for members of the Park County Friends of the Arts (PCFA). Walk-in fees are $14. The PCFA is also offering a special membership/workshop combination price of $60 ( a $20 saving).
Space is limited and this workshop will fill up fast. Call Brad Bunkers at 222-7566 or email him at studio(at)bradbunkers(dot)com to pre-register. Brad’s Web site is bradbunkers.com. The PCFA/Danforth Web site is pcfadanforth.org.
