Turn the page: Welcome, Conley’s Books & Music

On my Saturday morning walkabout I dropped into Conley’s Books & Music (formerly Books & Music, Etc.) to see what was new in non-fiction. There’s more new than new books. Jimmy and Nan (Van Horn) Conley bought the store from Tim Gable recently and are, as new owners do, making their own mark. In addition to new books, CDs, musical instruments and supplies, the store now has used books and CDs, a changed display of instruments, and a small stage for performance. They plan to offer live music once a week, too.

Jimmy, a musician, has been giving music lessons in the space behind the shop for some time now, and the intervening space is devoted to the used books and CDs (a much-needed offering in Livingston). You’ve probably heard Jimmy (guitar) and Nan (flute) at various venues and events around town, most recently the Stafford Animal Shelter’s “Fur Ball” at Chico Hot Springs.

For more store information, check out the listing in the Business Directory. Conley’s Books & Music is at 106 S. Main Street. 222-7766.
